No. DMV Ace is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any DMV, Department of Motor Vehicles, or government agency. Practice questions are based on official state DMV handbooks, which are publicly available. Passing all practice tests in the app does not guarantee passing the real test — always use your official state handbook as the authoritative source.

How do I change my state or vehicle type?

Open the app and tap the state/vehicle selector at the top of the Home screen. You can switch between all 51 states and choose Car, Motorcycle, or CDL at any time. Progress is stored independently for each combination, so switching won't affect your other study sessions.

Does the app work offline?

Yes — all practice tests and learning modules work fully offline once the app is installed. State handbook PDFs (a Pro feature) require an internet connection to download the first time, but once saved they're available offline.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — the 3-month Pro plan includes a free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. To avoid being billed, cancel before the trial ends. Only one free trial is available per Apple ID or Google account. The free tier of the app is always available at no cost and doesn't require a trial.

How do I restore my purchases after reinstalling?

Open the app, navigate to any Pro feature, and tap Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) you used when you originally subscribed. How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google — not inside the app. On iPhone: go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → DMV Ace → Cancel Subscription. On Android: open Google Play → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → DMV Ace → Cancel. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period. Cancelling stops future charges but does not trigger a refund for time already paid.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled entirely by Apple or Google — we are not able to process them directly. On iOS: visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. On Android: go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. If you have trouble or need help navigating the refund process, email us at support@dmvaceapp.com and we will do our best to assist.

Why did my progress reset?

Progress is stored locally on your device. Deleting and reinstalling the app clears that local data — it does not sync automatically. Your Pro subscription can always be restored on any device via Restore Purchases. If you recently switched to a new phone and lost progress you cared about, contact us at support@dmvaceapp.com and we will see what we can do.

The app isn't working properly — what should I do?

First, try force-closing and reopening the app. If the issue continues, check that your app is updated to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. Still not working?
